EFC. X.87836 Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/FHA3/EW15.11.26. Chassis No. 1-SC. - J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Downing. With reference to the Peto and Radford Battery belonging to chassis 1-SC, your memo EFC2/T10.11.26 and attached correspondence. We submitted to this owner an extract of the 2nd. paragraph of Messrs. P. & R's. letter, dated 9th. inst. ref: M/5, asking him if this battery had been interfered with by an outsider. We attach hereto copy of his reply which is self-explanatory. Under these circumstances, we think the best thing we can do is to ask Messrs. P. & R.{Sir Henry Royce} to recondition this battery, and we will use it again on the first chassis we have in our hands which requires a reconditioned battery. We feel sure that we would get little satisfaction from Messrs. Flewitts if we place before them the question of the battery, owing to the fact that the car left their hands in April last. Replying to the queries raised in your memo. we have agreed to replace this battery free of charge, as it has been a continual source of complaint. We suggest that if Messrs. Peto and Radford feel in a generous mood and will supply a new battery, we see no reason why they should not. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} | ||
