EXTRACT OF LETTER OF THE 13TH. INSTANT, FROM : J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} DOWNING, OAKWOOD, DUDLEY. In answer to yours of this morning, I can safely say that the Peto and Radford Battery fitted to my R-R.{Sir Henry Royce} Phantom 1-SC. has never been touched or interfered with, or even taken out of the Box whilst in my possession. All I have done is to continually fill up with distilled water, every few hundred miles or weekly. You know my being an owner-driver and having no chauffeur, there is no one to interfere with it. No one puts a spanner on my car, except at your Works, and I have been driving a Rolls six years. Would anything happen to the battery whilst at Messrs.Flewitts having the body built ? The first time I saw the battery it was just as if the black top had cracks in it, and it did not look a nicely finished job, and from the start I had to keep feeding it with distilled water. | ||
