PROPOSALS FOR STEERING TO BE FITTED ON THE 10,000 MILE TRIAL FOR STANDARDIZATION, "NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I".

1. Each pivot should be fitted with a plain washer, instead of as/at present, one with a plain washer and one with a ball thrust.

2. The present standard side steering will be used with the present standard springs. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} does not want to do anything at the moment with the stiffer springs in the special tubes that R.{Sir Henry Royce} referred to in his memo R1/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 10.9.25.

3. The complete new steering box using the .72 worm and nut is to be used, but in place of the damped pendulum scheme which was stopped, an ordinary standard pendulum lever will be fitted.

The dimensions of the rocking shaft are such as to push out the pendulum lever in question .300" further from the frame. The side steering tube will have to be modified to suit.
