contd :- -2- Re. your remarks re. keeping temperature the same. I gave you the reason, and I am quite aware of keeping the tests alike as possible, but I had his wife in the car and they do not understand testing, and I did not like to keep them waiting after once getting the temp. The reports I am sending to you of the 40/50 HP. are fairly even. The temp. started at is the average temp. that we have arrived at at the foot of this hill. If I was to get higher temp. before starting and boiled, from our view I do not think the curve would be as useful. This hill is about one hour away from here and is in France - so that considerable time is lost at the Frontier. Yesterday morning we were one hour at the French Customs, consequently only two tests were taken in the morning - they must come back here for dinner - so time was lost again in the afternoon, otherwise the driving is good and they have drived up the hill very evenly as the tests show. Monday morning I lost time through an American coming in with his car - rear brakes squeaking (American R-R). I showed him how to cure them, and this was done. He was a God-send to me as he spoke French fluently and I have been able to let them know more what I wanted to do. The next car I am getting is a Alfa-Romeo. They are Agents here for them. It will be fairly difficult fitting the thermometer to these cars, and I am having to do all the work myself. I don't mind, but it takes time. It will contd :- | ||
