CAR WORK - SPARE WHEEL
CARRIERS FOR SIDE OF BONNET.

To stiffen the frame when rear foot not used, or with
diamond mounting, I quite agree that we must refer to the dash to
keep the frame upright.

One would expect that if we could control the frame rigidly
under the dash that the torsional flexibility between the dash and
where the spare wheel is fixed should not be enough to do any harm.

DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}'s design for
attaching the frame to the dash
may be good but one fears this
type of flange would deflect.
Is it possible to use channel
or angle - thus:

But I fear it will be necessary to stay straight to dash.
Could my angle be continued as a step iron.

We can never hope to have rubber mounting for the dash
because of the steering, but I do hope that the body and scuttle will
be insulated by rubber from the frame and dash.
