20) HARDY SPICER PROPELLOR SHAFT.

The Propellor shaft universal joints show no slackness, no wear can be detected. The joints are sealed and no lubrication necessary.

The splines on the sliding joint, do not show excessive wear. There is a sign of hard places where the movement has taken place, but not sufficient to cause any trouble.

The pulling of the Engine is due to the deletion of the thrust stay, more than the bending effect of the sliding joint.

21) DUNLOP MADE WHEELS WITH IMPROVED LOCKING NUTS.

We find that the use of Whitmore's oil for the caps and cones, is more preferable to grease.

22) LIGHTENED PETROL TANK.

The tank was free from leaks. The underguard broke away from the tank. The attachment of the guard to the tank requires strengthening.

23) LIGHTENED TOOL KIT.

These have proved satisfactory and have been passed for production.

24) COMPLETE NOISE INSULATION SCHEME.

The Scheme has been satisfactory throughout the mileage with regard to keeping engine noise from inside body. The insulation remained intact and did not show signs of coming adrift.

25) ISOLATED CHANGE SPEED LEVER.

The Change speed lever has been free from rattles since attention to the engine mounting.

27) LIGHTENED ROAD SPRINGS.

We have run the lightened type road springs for the last 7,000 miles with the increased damper loading. The riding of the Car at high speeds is good. At low speeds it is on the hard side. The increased damper loads prevented the objectionable pitching which was prominent at first. The rear hits the buffers occasionally. We have examined the spring leaves. There is no sign of failure. Comparing the riding and steering qualities, the standard springs give the better riding and steadier steering.
