28) SHEET METAL FLOOR BOARDS.

The metal floor boards fitted to this Car have had to be cut and carved to get the necessary clearances. We still had the board fouling the servo, and had to hammer indents to clear same. With these features cleared up, the metal board are an improvement over the wood ones.
The method of fastening also requires further attention. The large hole for the screw head allows heat to come through. The triangular piece of steel jams. A more solid arrangement is necessary.

29) SIMPLIFIED PETROL SYSTEM WITH GREEN LIGHT FOR RESERVE.

The warning light failed during the latter part of the mileage. The float of the mechanism in the petrol tank was found punctured, a faulty soldering being the cause.

30) ONE PIECE WINGS & RUNNING BOARDS IN ALUMINIUM.

The front wings have cracked and broken up. The twisting action from the tip to the running board where they are tied up, is chiefly the fault. The cracks have developed round the well for the spare wheel, where attached to the dashboard, round the Radiator, and on the outside beading.

31) CANTILEVER CONTROLS TO THROTTLE.

The Cantilever suspension has not failed. It is necessary to leave one notch slack for the mixture control, otherwise the movement of the Engine pulls it over strong.

32) LIGHTENED TYPE TORQUE REACTION DAMPER.

With the tightening up of the rear rubber blocks, we found that a load of 6 lbs on the Torque reaction damper was sufficient to check the abnormal pulsation of the Engine. We know from tests that two dampers give better results. The light damper has not failed and has kept its load.

33) ENGINE SIDE GUARDS WITHOUT LOUVERS.

The movement of the Engine has caused the breaking away of the side guards, where attached to the frame. They have got into an bad state. The bolts are very difficult to get at with the oil pipe, wiring, etc., in the channel frame.
