MICHELIN With reference to our VAI/ET.31.3.37, during the repairs to the engine of this car after the failure of N°4 big end bearing, we were unable to discover the cause of the trouble. There was no sign of oil leakage from any of the external or internal oil pipes, the remaining 5 big ends were quite free and there was no trace of any of them showing signs of seizure. Prior to the seizure, the oil pressure was O.K. Although the car was fitted with a standard oil pump, the oil pressure was always on the high side. Since attending to the bearings, however, we have fitted a large capacity oil pump. We are returning to Works N°4 connecting rod, as we think that it can be reconditioned and be good stock again. It has been labelled for your attention. Sr/VA. | ||
