R.R. 285 n (200 T) (S.F. 673, 22-5-19) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2376. X.3733 To. [Redacted] From Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Copy to [Redacted] [Redacted] [Redacted] Ck.{Mr Clark} X.3733 Re Pinning of Valve Tappets. X.3644 BmH/WHC1219. With reference to H7/CS1219, before writing Mr. Elliott on this matter I satisfied myself that the general opinion at Derby leaned rather strongly toward retaining the present design of tappet and improving the manufacture of it. It is possible, of course, that the present cam contour giving rapid lift calls for such accuracy in manufacture of tappets etc. as cannot be attained with reason, but the Production Dept are satisfied after investigation that the present standard of accuracy can be considerably improved. We will fit pinned tappets to the 10,000 miles Car as you instruct. Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} [Signature] | ||
