Dear Sirs,

We thank you for the main and big end bearings which arrived today.

The main bearings are of course not made to the same external dimension as the drawings of the main bearings we sent you and if I remember correctly we are to machine a new crankcase from its casting size to suit the external diameter of the bearings you have sent.

If so, this means new bearing caps.

With regard to the loose pieces you have sent for the thrust bearing we should like some further information to cover the job.

We shall be pleased to hear from you in order to be clear on the subject and able to fit them in the manner you intended.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
