X6135 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/AD. January 8th, 1932. Messrs. S. Smith & Sons, Ltd. Cricklewood Works, London, N.W.2. For the attention of Mr. Nicholls. Dear Sirs, With reference to your letter ref. S.1. of the 5th inst. you will be interested to know that the Smith instrument panel submitted by yourselves has been provisionally approved. In order that we may standardise same it will be necessary for a sample panel to be made up and fitted to a 20/25 HP. car which is shortly undergoing a standardisation test. We have decided that the instruments shall have the ordinary Smith finish and not the photographic process. With regard to the instrument patch, we shall be interested to have your figures for making this up, because depending on such figures will be our decision as to whether we shall continue to make the patch ourselves or allow you to manufacture same complete with instruments. With reference to the last paragraph of your letter, we shall be delighted if you will come up and see us on Tuesday next the 12th inst. when we can talk over various matters and make definite arrangements etc. Will you please let us know if this date will be convenient to you. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
