FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Copy to - HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EVL/M1.9.24. ORIGINAL 20.HP. CHASSIS. SCUTTLE & DASH ISOLATION. X4613 X4270 We thank you for your BY9/H28824. At the moment we certainly think that this should only be issued experimentally. + EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} has not taken the matter up with the Sales officials, but will do so within the next few days. Derby would supply the water channel permanently riveted to the dash on all cars, likewise they would supply the bolts, washers, and rubber plugs, sent out in position, with a wooden distance piece representing the scuttle armature. Concerning the pulley for the operation of the louvres we suggest that should there be nothing in the way this should be dropped until it clears the water channel. We would be glad if you would tell us whether you can do this as we have no information here to enable us to investigate it. Concerning the similar scheme to be set out for the 40/50. we think that you should allow for a 2" vertical depth of scuttle armature, and moving the water channel further from the edge of the dashboard.
