TO [strikethrough] FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to - HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M1. 9. 24. 400 re. 20.HP. CHASSIS FRAME TIES. X4260 We thank you for your BY/CS/H29824. We are very doubtful about the frame stiffener. We understand that this was not fitted to 5.G.11. Was it fitted to 68.GF, the car with the body underframe? We were satisfied with the improvement obtained on these 2 cars, and if neither had the stiffener we think it very doubtful whether the additional complication, weight, and expense, will be justified. The diagrams on F.52766. lead us to think the improvement will take place at the rear end of the frame only, by using the stiffener, and though it is something, it seems doubtful whether it is enough to justify the stiffener.
