1305 Experimental Dept. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /AFM. {Anthony F. Martindale} 2/MH. {M. Huckerby} 20th. April, 1939. The Cloudsley Engineering Co. Ltd., 13, Queen Anne's Gate, LONDON, S.W.1. Your Ref. JLC/MB. Dear Sirs, We enclose the two records taken on your instrument and we are always willing to try a comparator with a new setting. We would like to emphasize the extreme improbability of our purchasing one of your instruments because we have not got £70 to spare. As regards the valves, we thank you for fitting up the Luvax dampers for us. Do you allow Luvax to make the valves you say they have standardised themselves ? We presume you do. We would like to point out that it is the duty of our Experimental Department to try any modifications likely to improve our cars, but the standardisation of new parts depends on many things besides technical improvements. We hope, therefore, you are not expecting too much just because we are trying these valves. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
