Rolls-Royce, Limited, D E R B Y . 16th February, 1937. Dear Sirs, STEERING CAM ROLLERS: With reference to our recent telephone conversation regarding the above, and with particular respect to the experimental sets against our drawings X.2737D and X.2737C, it will be remembered that your query was with respect to the recessed portion at the bottom of the "V" groove, it having been noted that the set as supplied had wider grooves than shown on our drawing. We have pleasure in enclosing further copies of our drawings on which we have indicated an enlarged view outlining the grooves as received by us, and the grooves as shown on our drawing. From this it will be noted that the wider grooves do not weaken the component in any way, and in actual fact the modification to the groove was effected, as we considered that the use of a larger radius in the groove would add to the strength of the job. However, should you consider it necessary, we could modify these somewhat, but we shall be glad if you will review the comparisons as shown on our drawing, and to have your comments in due course. Yours faithfully, RANSOME & MARLES BEARING CO. LTD. C. G. {Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} H. {Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Richardson GENERAL MANAGER.
