(2) PHANTOM WATER PUMP. 5 lbs. ..... (11 lbs. 7 3/4 ozs.) MANIFOLDS. 30 lbs. ..... (65 lbs. 5 3/4 ozs.) (I am not quite clear whether the parts pictured ) (in Negative 5529c. Section 1 G.H. are in addition ) (to or substitution for those shown in Negative ) (5509c. of the same group and, if so, what effect ) (have they on total weight and light alloy weight? ) (At the moment, I have neglected 5529 as they ) (do not seem to appear in the summary of weights ) CYLINDER HEADS & ROCKER COVERS. 60 lbs. ..... (83 lbs. 11 1/2 ozs). CYLINDERS & TOP HALF CRANKS. 140 lbs. [struck through] ..... (189 lbs. 8 ozs.) CARBURETTER, AIR SILENCER & CONTROLS. 5 lbs. ..... (20 lbs.) On this assumption, this gives a total finished machine weight of aluminium in the engine of 282 lbs. [corrected from 288 lbs. which is struck through] I would like to refer to the brake drum if the light alloy construction is now standard, so perhaps you would let me know about this. I will certainly give you plenty of warning before descending on you again, so that you can have time to revert to type. Sincerely yours, Laurence Pomeroy. TECHNICAL EDITOR. | ||
