1020 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}8/MH.{M. Huckerby} 11th. October 1938. Mr. Johnson, Messrs. Vandervell Products Ltd., Western Avenue, Park Royal, LONDON, W.3. Dear Sir, In accordance with our discussion of yesterday, we enclose herewith our modified drawing of the rear bearing ECD.924. This incorporates all the detail dimensions as different from the original layout L.1076, which you are going to bring up-to-date in respect of the various points raised, namely:- (a) Interchangeability of top and bottom halves. (b) Consistency of lug dimensions. (c) .250 dia. holes in bearing halves in place of present .312 holes. (d) Minimum limits for outside dia. and thickness of thrust washers. End clearance to be .002-.004. (e) Chamfer at outer edge of thrust ring on W/M face to avoid restriction of oil flow from the retaining thread. (f) Additional groove in rear bearing as shown on ECD.924 to be omitted for the present. | ||
