Rolls Royce Ltd., Experimental Dept., Derby. For the attention of Mr. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} B. Dixon. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 15th of March and beg to report the result of our examination of the Ferodo linings sent here by Mr. Martindale and the other pair brought by you a little while ago. We estimate that in each case the linings have been up to a temperature of 650°F and have been at that temperature for a considerable length of time. This temperature, whilst not excessive from the point of view of the physical structure of the lining, is certainly excessive in that it may have an effect on the coefficient of friction characteristic. Yours faithfully, FERODO LIMITED [Signature: J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Monghey] Director. [Handwritten note: File] | ||
