Querying why certain cars with well base rims are being produced without the mandated hydraulic shock dampers, new steering friction device, and lower geared steering.

re. Steering and Low Pressure Tyres.

It would appear to me from R2/M3.9.26. that R.{Sir Henry Royce} instructs that where well base rims and medium pressure tyres are fitted that we should also include:-

(1). Hydraulic shock dampers to front axle.

(2) New friction device to steering pivots.

(3) Lower geared steering.

Quite a number of cars are going through with well base rims and medium pressure tyres without hydraulic shock dampers and without new friction device to the steering. Also we are not yet getting 20-HP. cars through with the lower geared steering fitted.

I assume that the above is well known to the Administration, and there is not likely to be any trouble in this direction?
