Letter to The S.U. Company Ltd. regarding a Coil Housing and Armature, and tests on a noisy pump for a Bentley car.

Dear Sirs, We are in receipt of your letter, together with Coil Housing and Armature. I have handed these over to our Electrical Laboratory for calculations of induced voltage, and will let you know the results as soon as they are to hand. As a matter of interest, we have fitted the single contact pump with latest type diaphragms to one of our Bentley cars. This was extremely noisy and remained so after a fairly fast run. We then dismantled the two units and fitted additional paper washers in the armature recesses, with the result that the noise was considerably reduced.
