Amendments to instructions for the push button switch, battery ignition, and electrical apparatus.

-3- contd. P.59. Push Button Switch. The push button switch, like the main and auxiliary switch unit, has main gold and silver alloy contacts and auxiliary carbon contacts, which make first and break last and serve to protect the main contacts against sparking at break. P.60. Battery Ignition. Paragraph commencing "A few drops of engine oil". The appropriate sentence should read - "In order to lubricate the distributor spindle bearing and the centrifugal ignition timing mechanism etc." P.66. Hand control of ignition timing. We recommend that the paragraph concerned be altered to the following :- "In special cases e.g. (a) charging up a run down battery. (b) running with both ignitions but no charge. (c) testing the battery ignition. the two other positions of the charging and ignition switch, combined with the use of the auxiliary magneto tumbler switch, are useful. P.67. Addition of electrical apparatus. If electrical apparatus be installed on the car, additional to that already provided, this must on no account be connected to the system at one end of the terminals of the ammeter. In such circumstances the new apparatus and wires are only protected by the comparatively heavy emergency battery fuse, in which case a short circuit involves some risk of fire.
