ACCELERATOR PEDAL, 'D' STEERING. 'New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I.'

We give below a copy of memorandum from CWB.

Will you kindly arrange for us to try two further pedals, as suggested?

B.J.

COPY OF CWB7/LH{Mr Haworth}24.9.25.

The new accelerator pedal has now been tested by PN.{Mr Northey}, Ox. and myself.

The consensus of opinion is that it is not yet quite satisfactory and it is thought that it can still be made more comfortable.

It is assumed that this pedal represents the smallest travel which it is possible to give us.

Before coming to a final decision on this matter, it is desired to test two more pedals:

(1) A pedal with the same travel as the present, but with the plate of the pedal 1/2" nearer to the foot than the present one, i.e. the equivalent of putting a half-inch block on the present pedal plate.

(2) A pedal similar to the present one, but with the foot place 10° more upright than the present pedal.

May arrangements be made for these pedals to be supplied for test, please?

(Snd.) CWB.
