25/30 HP. Units.

Will you please make and fit lengthened exhaust valve guides Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}127 to the cylinder head which will be supplied for the job by HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} These to be fitted only to Nos. 2 & 5 cylinder exhaust valves. This is for a test on exhaust valve temperatures and the effect of shielding the valve.

The reason for fitting to Nos. 2 & 5 cylinders is that they are the only ones visible for recording the temperature by an optical instrument.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/L.H.Swindall.
