Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.

Rover's, and actually they have a set which we made for them for their new engine, after having got their agreement to our ideas of piston proportions.

We regret at the moment we have not any figures from a direct comparison between Aerolites and Bohlnalites, since the experimental work at Humber only resulted in our being informed that the Aerolite had been selected, and we were not favoured with any results.

We are at present making up some experimental pistons for another firm to try against the corresponding size of Bohlnalite, and we hope to obtain some figures from this test.

There is no doubt, however, that from such information as we have, the horse-power output is always in favour of the Aerolite, and your own experience is confirmed where ever a direct comparison is made with any form of split skirt piston. M.G. have done considerable work in this connection, with almost every existing design of piston at present on the market, but from the point of view of achieving a minimum of loss through piston friction, the Aerolite has a very considerable lead.

Yours faithfully,
FOR THE LIGHT PRODUCTION CO.LTD.

A.P. Brooks

GENERAL MANAGER.
