Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr.Frazer.

With reference to your telephone call of this afternoon. The rear brake assembly for which you have been making some of the components, is intended for two different models, one having Girling brakes on the rear only, the other having Girling brakes all round. For the former we require two pairs of expander and adjuster units, for the latter six sets of four. As yet only the rear units of the latter six sets have been ordered. There is no need for you to proceed with the five pairs now ordered until you get the order for the front six pairs; some, if not all of the pieces are identical.

You will understand that this is all purely experimental material, it is our usual custom to build six cars of a new type for testing.

We would like to know the price of the rear units only in batches of 100; and later, when the details are available, of 100 sets of four units per car. You may assume that five such batches will be required per annum.

The three sets already made have arrived.

We will give you ample warning of the date when we require Production supplies, if the samples are satisfactory.

Trusting this clarifies the position -

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
