Commander W.R. GILBERT,
H.M.S. EXCELLENT,
PORTSMOUTH.

Dear Commander Gilbert,

Thank you for your letter of the 2nd September.

The instruction book is well in hand and we will let you have some preliminary abbreviated notes on the gun operation at the same time as the first two service trial weapons are delivered.

The Oerlikon handbook was most useful and it will be returned to you in the immediate future.

Yours faithfully,
For ROLLS ROYCE LTD.

p.p. W.A. ROBOTHAM.
