Chassis - Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}

PHANTOM II.

28-EX. 10,000 Miles Test Car. This car is now fitted with the gearbox with the synchromesh second speed and the other important items, i.e. rubber engine mounting, the adjustable and more silent valve tappets, riding control rod device, and it is hoped that the car will get away on test very shortly.

EX. was to look into the question of holding back material if necessary to enable us to introduce these new features on the 51st of "G" Series or earlier if possible.

20/25 HP.

21-G-4. 10,000 Miles Test Car. It was stated that this car complete with rubber engine mounting would go away for a 10,000 miles test next week.

As this is such an important improvement to this chassis EX. was to look into the question of being able to introduce it on the 101st chassis of "G" Series.

It was agreed to order a further 400 sets of material for 20/25's, with of course the usual proviso in regard to any parts that may be affected by modifications.

Easier Change Gearboxes. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} stated that he had tried the Hayes gearbox when at the Austin Works. He found that there were two controls on the steering wheel in connection with it and altogether was not very favourably impressed.

So far the one that we like best appears to be the Spontan and it is understand that we are to go to see it being made.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} referred to his interview with the Hydraulic Couplings Ltd. and spoke of the Voigt Torque Converter, which in their opinion is the most advanced thing in this direction.

They are anxious for us to go to see them and it was arranged that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} would send HDV, first writing personally
