RE. CYLINDER OVEROILING.

On the new car, we have had great difficulty in keeping the oil consumption down at high speeds. It is rather an unusual complaint because there was very little difficulty with plugs oiling up or even smoking, but if the car was run at high speeds across France, the oil consumption would only average 200 to 300 m.p.g.

As you are aware, all along on the 20 HP. we have used a bevel scraper ring. At first sight it would appear that we fit the bevel ring the wrong way up, as we fit the bevel facing downwards. A large number of tests however confirm that the ring is much more efficient this way than the other way.

We have since adopted, what we call, the 'L' section ring which has reduced the oil consumption to a quarter of what it was with the standard rings.

We simply give you this information in case you experience this difficulty.

We attach a report and photostat in connection with this complaint.
