Extract from Mr. Elliott's report E6/G31.3.21
re Electrical Matters.
Visit of Messrs. Wormald & Hives to W.W.
on 19.3.21.
(16) BATTERY IGNITION. X.4275. X.2512 X.3129 X.3445.
The condenser on the Bosch battery ignition should be tested for capacity and compared with the R.R.40/50 H.P. condenser in accordance with Mr. Royce's wishes, and its construction should also be investigated. Mr. Royce thinks it unnecessary on Mr. Hives' suggestion, to send out spare platinum points with each chassis for the screw and blade of the low tension make and break. Mr. Hives thinks that we are using silk covered wire on the H.T. winding of the R.R. spark coil, but is going to make sure of this point. Mr. Royce thinks the use of silk is unnecessary. Enamelled wire was intended same as magnetos.
