To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} +8430 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M25.9.25. PHANTOM STEERING. X. 8430 X. 8425 Herewith we send N.sch.2054 shewing the set up spring in the cross steering tube for adding friction to the ball, and for providing a little give in the cross steering tube, which we expect will have beneficial result on high speed steering wobbles. We have used the forgings of the existing joint, the only different pieces being the end brazed into the tube, and the inner pad. Mr. Royce is very anxious that this should be got on a car at once, if possible the next 10,000 miles test car. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
