CAR TOOL KITS. We herewith submit a revised tool kit for the Bentley V, 60, 80, Ripple etc., we also attach a list of discarded tools. Having carefully gone into the kit question from an owner-driver's point of view we believe this to be the minimum possible. With regard to spares, we only propose including 1 sparking plug. As our dashboards are now wired up for an inspection lamp, and clip also provided, we shall probably be called on to supply the inspection lamp with each chassis. We should like to suggest that a separate kit of spares (considered necessary) be made up and offered to the customers who intend making Continental tours. Customers should pay cash for this extra kit, but a credit or refund offered if the parts are returned in 100% condition. This scheme would certainly appeal to our new customers of the future when lower priced cars are developed. To enable us to make our tool kit more compact and to get the maximum use of the tools provided, several alterations are necessary to engine and axle plugs, also new spanners are required in several cases. We have shown on our proposed tool list where spanners are not stock size. We should like our largest box spanner to be ½" x ⅝" to enable us to have the ⅝" end for sparking plugs, and the ½" end for engine sump drain plug, rear axle drain, and filling plug, this would mean the box spanner being slightly longer than the present ½" box. It is proposed to include a 5/16" x ⅜" box spanner which should be longer than our present standard for removing cylinder head nuts. On B.60 and B.80 units it is essential to use 2-½" jaw spanners, single ended type preferred, for bottom tappet adjustment. | ||
