-2- the universal joint pins on the Hardy Spicer Propeller shaft. If the stress is appreciably lower we should obtain a correct length for 32-EX "by hook or by crook". (9) SLIDING JOINT REVERSED. If O.K. on examination Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} will circulate a standardisation sheet for running the sliding joint on the back of the propeller shaft. (10) CONTINENTAL PHANTOM PROGRAMME. Before this car is put in the Shop, it should have the light front down take pipes fitted and tested for noise, it should also be tested with the front roll rod on and off. Front brake drums should be examined for grease. At the conclusion of these tests it should be put in the Shop to have:- (a) Raised front engine mounting fitted. (b) Side engine guards fitted. (c) Standard front road springs fitted if Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} thinks necessary after the roll rod test. (d) Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} to go over the front suspension for fouls. (e) Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} to provide jack brackets. (f) Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} should try to get some interleaving for the rear springs. (11) SAHARA AIR CLEANER. Swindall should test the air cleaner off 34-EX on the test bed to see how much it is choked up. (12) OIL COOLER. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} will let Steadman have a sample of the latest Harrison cooler. (13) P.III BEARINGS. Discussion will take place on P.III bearings to see what can be done to increase bearing area with existing crankshaft forging. (14) BROOKLANDS RADIATOR TEST. Steadman will carry out radiator tests on 37-EX from Monday onwards. | ||
