GRY{Shadwell Grylls} Bentley clutch mechanism. ----------------------- You, of course, know that several customers have had clutch trouble with their Bentley cars. Some of these customers have burnt out their clutches as many as three times, and the cause can generally be traced to rough handling, and little or no attention to pedal clearances, etc. I have been taking particular pains lately to check the pedal clearances on customers' cars. In fact, whenever I see a Bentley I have a 'dekko' at this point. In nearly every instance, I find that there is far less clearance than there should be, and in some cases the pedal is nearly up to the boards. Of course, I appreciate that we never have trouble with our demonstrators, and this is probably due to the following facts :- 1) The cars are properly handled, 2) The cars are continually being attended to. Have you 'envisagé' any modifications to overcome this feature ? If not, I am afraid that we shall have quite a bit of trouble in this direction. Sr [Handwritten signature] | ||
