We have resumed the mileage of the car to-day.

Before doing so, we have been going over various parts of the car. The slipper wheel load has been put up to 25 lbs. to overcome the crank period that was noticeable.

We found, upon dismantling the radiator, that it had been riding hard on the bottom of the cross member, also fouling the flanges of the cross member, thus preventing the centre suspension from operating correctly. The radiator shutters we found to be very stiff, and some considerable time was spent in trying to get these in a more workable condition.

We had a considerable oil leak from the two small breather holes at the bottom of the tower of the change speed mechanism. These breather holes are in conjunction with the spring plunger in the change speed mechanism, and apparently the plunger caused a pumping action, which pumped the oil out. We have soldered these holes up and made a proper breather into the gear box by drilling a .1875" hole diagonally in the filler plug. A test run after completing the various items on the car proved that we had cured any oil leaks from the gear box.

We should be much obliged if you would ask Mr. Shelton to check over the hand quadrant leverages to the throttle. We are of the opinion that the movement is considerably slower per notch of the hand quadrant than on the right hand car. We query this, because we get a throttle opening with three notches of the hand quadrant, but cannot maintain a slow running position without the lever is half
