STANDARDIAZATION OF CHASSIS PARTS X1034 Re your note Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Mor10/L9314 to hand, for which I thank you. Mr Bailey and I have jointly considered this matter and have come to the conclusion that the following procedure would be the most desirable. When the Chief Draughtsmen have ascertained that all experiments have led up to a final conclusion and that any proposed device or design is thoroughly in accordance with Mr Royce's wishes, that they shall make their preparations to effect standardization and issue a note to you asking for the following information:- 1; Difference in weight that the part makes to the chassis 2. Difference in cost. 3. Value of the parts that would be scrapped in the Stores by the adoption of the new part on a certain Series. At the same time we shall issue any instructions that are necessary with reference to the existing stock and any instructions that are necessary with reference to despatching experimental chassis to the Sales Dept: for their criticism.
