I should not have thought there would have been much objection to a slope in the floor for a certain distance, not a slope, of course, from end to end, but sufficient to clear the triangular stay rod. It might be made in the form of a step, but a slope might make it very difficult for anyone in the rear Seat to get out of. I think I saw a body which had the floor opposite the door at a lower level than it was when in close proximity to the rear seat.
