Dixon's Riley Wins the T.T.

The cars made a fine array. Though the 1935 race was a National and not an International event owing to a confusion over the calendar, there were a number of foreign cars handled by British drivers, and a representative British entry. The big red 4½-litre Lagondas were similar in appearance to last year, as also Hall's green Bentley, with its pointed tail behind a four-seater body.

Two of the three 3.3-litre Bugattis had been specially prepared for the race, and had beautifully built bodies in true Continental racing style, riveted and secured by numberless small bolts. They were relatively untried, but very fast. The Magnettes' system of wireless information from pit to drivers had not been working too well, despite stories in the daily Press, and it was unlikely that the team control would rely upon this.

In the smallest class fierce competition was likely between the four green Singers, of the new type tested at Le
