RADIATOR FOR CHROMIUM PLATING.

We send you herewith a blueprint of LeC. 2774 shewing the original scheme proposed by R.{Sir Henry Royce} for adapting the standard radiator to suit chromium plating.

The idea is that the tank should be plated first, that is to say, the top tank alone, without any side plates attached.

The tank is then soldered on to the top of the matrix and it is held thereto in addition by corner pieces joined to both tank and matrix with the set screws shewn.

The side plates are fitted and secured with countersunk set screws as a final operation.

We should be glad if you would consider this scheme, and also one similar to the design you already have (namely R's second scheme), but with the two top layers of tubes missed out instead of one, so as to secure a greater degree of heat isolation for the plating of the tank.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
