WATER PUMP DRIVE.

We agree to details being issued for this pressed on and pinned drive, but think more running is required. We do not see the use of the pins.

CARBURETTER AND SILENCER.

The loosening of the inner sleeve is being investigated, and some trial pieces are being built up by the air silencer building Shop. We should like to know what is done.

FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH.

The excessive oil leak from the crankcase bearing is being investigated. Except for the large diameter crankshaft the arrangement is standard Bentley and 25/30 with which little trouble is experienced. Experiments are proceeding. There are several suggestions.

BALANCING HOLES.

The dynamic balancing holes are holes called for on the RR. detail of the Borg & Beck clutch cover flange, equally spaced between the driving bolt holes - screws with varying thickness of head are inserted by us.
Borg & Beck drill holes in the clutch cover flange to balance the unit before delivering to us, and unless the dynamic balancing holes are already there, these holes which may come anywhere, may interfere with the subsequent drilling of the dynamic balancing holes, hence the suggestion that the latter should be put in before unit balancing. The difficulty only arises on Wraith, because the dynamic balance holes are not used on 25/30, and according to Test Dept. are not required. On Wraith they were a request from Experimental and their necessity seems doubtful.
