- 2 - (FRONT SUSPENSION - Cont'd). difficult to provide a self-breathing filler. We think some tests of filling without breathers should be made - we do not want the breathers except for filling. FRAMES & FITTINGS. We are preparing schemes for improving the design of the rear wheel arch support brackets, which will we expect (based on Ph.1D) obviate the necessity for increasing the gauge. The front engine mounting brackets are in abeyance until a decision is come to on the high engine mounting. DASHBOARD FITTINGS. Kebuss Snubber. The sample tried was not good. Fresh samples of a finer weave are available, and will be tried. A material rather more resilient than standard and impregnated with graphite is what is being sought for. REAR ROAD SPRINGS. The front axle lubrication is being dealt with, and we have now also instructed threaded shackles for the rear of rear springs. CROSS STEERING TUBE JOINTS. We agree to the modification shown on K.1. 183 and will provide more clearance for the spherical contact piece. Would C. Dept. please instruct. GEAR BOX AND ACTUATING GEAR. The C.I. covers were a suggestion for economy, and so were the S/NC. outer cases. It appears to be necessary to return to standard material in these cases, and also in the case of the gearbox actuating sleeve shown on K.L.200. Would 'G' Dept. please instruct. PETROL TANK SUPPORTS. We think a report on the reason for the rust is required. PEDALS. It is suggested that the excessive engine movement may account for the fracture of the horizontal pedal stay. ENGINE UNIT. The cylinder head and broken valve are being dealt with. | ||
