P. 2. FRONT SHOCK DAMPER OUTSIDE FRAME.

With reference to your enquiry over the telephone re. front shock dampers outside the frame on P. 2., we have been prevented by stress of other work from proceeding with this job up to the present, but we may get an opportunity quite soon.

We remember that you had a model fitted up in Derby - seen by HDY.{William Hardy} - and we should be very interested to know whether you had carried out any adequate tests on this model.

We should expect that owing to the increased quarrelling [REDACTED] the damper wore out more quickly than the existing damper, in addition to which it is another type with plain bearings instead of ball bearings.

Any information you can give us at this stage would be very useful to us when we start on the actual design.

DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}
