Rolls Royce Limited. D E R B Y. Attention of Mr.Grylls. Dear Mr.Grylls, I enclose herewith section of the journal that I brought away. You will see that this is hardened properly but as I know, you think it could be deepened. I have again gone into this and our own view is that the depth is suitable for the section concerned. This journal is one of the old type where the hole does not go right through but nevertheless the case depth is .045 and there is no trace of the casing disintegrating, which one would expect to find if the reason is its thickness. We have schemed out a joint with an angular movement up to 26 degrees but as at the moment we do not know if you are going to increase the size we are not sending you the print but will do so as soon as we hear from you, which joint we are to work on so that at the same time, we could produce a sample of it for your inspection. Yours faithfully, p.p.HARDY, SPICER & CO. LIMITED. Director. | ||
