PETROL TANK FILTERS.

We have recently received several complaints of damage to the paintwork of cars due to leakage through the joint of the filter with the petrol tank.

It appears to be due to a leakage of petrol through the joint which gets behind the paint and filling which causes it to bubble and these bubbles sometimes burst and a greasy substance comes out which is presumably washed out of the joint by the petrol.

The matter is one which causes some annoyance to customers and it therefore appears necessary to take some action to do away with the cause of the trouble.

I do not suppose you have had any examples at the Works, but I have no doubt we can show you some almost at any time in London and will try and arrange to do so on the next occasion when you visit us here. In the meanwhile, will you take the matter up with the departments concerned with a view to remedying the trouble.
