-2- AUTOVAC TESTS. Alteration to new type filter. Petrol delivery by autovac at 1500 r.p.m. engine full throttle opening. Petrol lifted 31 15/16" (equivalent to 6 galls. of petrol in tank on a level road) Induction pipe depression 2.1" Hg. In order to obtain correct results comparative tests were made for every alteration of the new filter, with a plain pipe. Thus in each case the time for the delivery of a pint of petrol through a plain pipe is denoted by 'x' secs. and the time for delivery through the filter by x+, the number of seconds difference shewn by the tests. Condition of test. Time for delivery of 1 pt. (secs.) Plain pipe. Filter. Filter as designed i.e. x x+ 15.3 Holes A.{Mr Adams} & B. 3/16" dia. Holes C. .250" dia.
