BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c. Mr. Brock. X8783 do EFC4/T6.2.28. X.8783. CUSTOMER'S DYNAMO YL.95. EX CHASSIS 5-LC. This machine is one of the early type, with a C angle of 120°. Solder had been melted and thrown from the commutator connections, but the insulation of the machine, tested on the A.C. mains, was O.K., and the field coils appeared to be alright. New brushes appeared to have been recently fitted and it was found that the outer positive and inner negative brushes were interchanged. There was a greasy deposit on the commutator, brush holders, and end bracket, as a result of which the inner positive and both control brushes were badly gummed in their holders. None of these faults however can certainly be said to have caused melting of the solder which can only be attributed to the machine having the early type of C angle. Machine herewith handed to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EFC. | ||
