The receipt of your memo provides the opportunity for us to enlighten you as to the manner in which your future requests for information must be made.

To deal firstly with the case in hand. After having spent time in a futile endeavour to ascertain exactly what you required, we found that one of the scheme numbers was incorrectly quoted by you and the other drawing not available. It was for this reason that we asked for more information.

Your comment that this department cannot give an estimate in the absence of an LOP. is entirely unfounded.

The statement by you that parts are instructed to the Experimental Dept. is an acknowledgment that precise details do exist. In this instance a typed list of both new and superseded parts were sent to your department, under headings of By/CS.2/EH.29.1.36. and By/CS.12/EH.12.12.35.

Doubtless you will now recognise that such being the case, detail drawings were available, and the necessity in this instance of our working solely to LEC. drawings does not arise.

We, therefore, require that you should forward to us, in this and future instances, your copies of these instructing memos, thus conforming to the practice carried out by other departments.

The observations contained in the intermediate paragraph of your memo are totally inaccurate, so need no comment.

G/Rb.{R. Bowen}
