Answering your Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 9/NJ29.5.24, I acknowledge the receipt of the letter from Messrs. Scintilla, dated 28th inst., together with blueprints of types AM-6 and AG-6 Scintilla magnetos, and booklet E3. We should like to know all particulars of the AG-6-A magneto, including the price, on the same lines as our enquiry with reference to the AM-6-A, but we are hopeful that Messrs. Scintilla will be able for the time being sufficiently well to meet our requirements in these two magnetos of the AM-6-A type, and that it will not be necessary to go to the extent of experimenting with the bulkier AG-6-A machine. Accordingly I further confirm that we wish you to place an order for two of the AM-6 magnetos (anticlockwise rotation when looking on the driving end) and similar to magneto No.34937 which we have on experimental test. We have carefully noted the remarks contained in Messrs. Scintilla's letter and have slightly adapted our specification of requirements in the direction indicated by them. We are attaching copy of the specification in its most recent form (this, however, is still not complete, and still only tentative). It is considered that this specification, though not complete as regards some of the figures, will give a sufficiently good idea of our requirements, especially if taken in conjunction with some amplified notes of these requirements, copies of which we also attach, and one copy of which no doubt you will pass on to the Scintilla Co. in this connection. We want the two magnetos which are ordered from Messrs. Scintilla to meet the specification as nearly as possible, though we know they cannot meet it completely without fundamental alterations. We cannot decide at the moment as to whether we shall later desire them to provide us with AG-6-A magnetos in order more fully to meet the specification. We return Messrs.
