TITLE
PHANTOM III STANDARDISATION OF PARTS
BIG END BEARING BUSH (A.C.9. DIE CAST)

MAIN TEXT
Production position & comments.

Big end bearing bush (A.C.9. die cast) replacing A.C.6. bearings provides a saving of 2/1d. per chassis and involves a die Cost of £10.0.0d.

Existing bushes will be absorbed at 171st. chassis in 'D' series and it is therefore proposed to introduce A.C.9. bushes at this point. Die cost of £10.0.0d. will be recovered after producing 100 chassis i.e. at the 71st. chassis in 'E' series.

There will also be a reduction of indirect charges because casting scrap will be reduced when using A.C.9. material.
