X.4383 - 20 HP. DYNAMO.

This is to confirm that as arranged in conversation, the dynamo from the new 6GII engine unit be replaced by the experimental E dynamo, which was taken off with the old unit. The armature of this E dynamo is one of those with two coils per slot and 57 commutator segments, and it is desired that this should go through the 10,000 mile test.

V4383

With reference to your enquiry regarding the new type brush gear, there are modifications which will be required to this before it will be put through for standardisation and therefore it is not considered that it has developed sufficiently to warrant a 10,000 mile test at this stage.
