25/30 & Bentley - Service Work when dealing with the fitting of rebored cylinders or changing of piston rings.

[Handwritten] Same method is adopted for the Mk V & hooking up con rod and fitting HP scraper ring

To facilitate Depots when dealing with repair work to the engine, the sketch and routine method should be of considerable help under the following conditions:-

(1) When refitting an engine in the chassis, it is easier to leave off the cylinder head and block for manoeuvring etc.

(2) Fitting an over-size cylinder block.

(3) Fitting new pistons or rings.

It is not necessary to remove side engine guards and the bottom half which deletes the necessity of breaking the con rod bearings.

One good engine fitter and mate with a youth to operate the pulley block can fit a cylinder block in 15 minutes, within a short time of practice.

Straight legged callipers are used to compress the piston rings.
